ESAB

ESAB is a leading welding company covering most disciplines of welding/joining. The company exists in all major countries with a total of 35 factories for equipment and filler metal and is today the only welding company with expertise in FSW. ESAB has supplied over 60 major installations in FSW. The turnover 2016 was 1.8 billion USD. ESAB has been a tier one member of the FSW initiative within TWI since the start. Over the years ESAB has built up a competence to supply complete solutions for customers and applications within the aerospace, transport and automotive industry. ESAB is the owner of a number of patents within FSW.

The participants from ESAB will come from FSW process development, product management and design.

ESAB is the prime supplier of general FSW stations in Europe and arguably the leading global supplier of FSW for the aerospace industry. ESAB is currently setting up a cooperation agreement with a leading actor in civil aerospace and participation in the OASIS project would give a competitive advantage over non-European actors in primarily USA and China.
